So I had made a quick weekend visit to Washington and it was definitely a spur of the moment last minute decision to go. But I was glad I ended up making the decision to go. I’ve been before but that was a long time ago, 18 years ago to be exact!
Washington is one of the few cities in America that actually has real historic significance, not just for American history but world history. The day I toured Washington was the day the Nationals visited the White House so there was extra traffic and extra security around the area.
This time when going around Washington the only thing I was hellbent on was seeing the Lincoln Memorial, but I got to see it this time! I never realized how big it actually is. However, one thing Washington reminded me a lot of Berlin, probably with a lot of War memorials and paying tribute to their history.
It is a cool place to see, but I find it’s not a place you’d want to visit regularly.
