It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Bollywood movie, but this one was up on randomly so I decided to give it a watch. It was really good, dealt with a very sensitive and painful topic in a heartfelt, humorous and entertaining way. This movie was entertaining and relatable as the topic of having difficulty getting conceiving is all too common.
So the story was pretty hilarious, I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll just mention “Jane The Virgin” so you can get an idea of what happened. The 2 couples were both very different and were trying to get a different outcome of this situation and unable to get into an agreement for most part. However, you don’t see them as good vs evil, you don’t take sides you really watch it rooting for both sides to find an understanding.
But man, Akshay Kumar’s character was so unlikable during most of the movie, while it’s understandable where he was coming form, he was just a complete asshole most of the time. As someone who’s always hated smoking, and while they were showing dangers of smoking (They showed it with weed not tobacco), it was greatly exaggerated. And when they were finally starting to get a long, there was unnecessary forced conflict.
It was really funny and enjoyable throughout dealing with a painfully sensitive topic. I give this an 8/10.
- Dealt with a sensitive topic in a fun and heartfelt way
- Funny and entertaining throughout
- Character interaction and development
Bad:
- Akshay Kumcar was unlikable for most of the movie
- Unnecessary forced conflict
- Anti-Smoking message was exaggerated
